Teacher's message Mensaje de el Maestro
Dear parents and students,
My name is Gus Gonzalez and I am delighted to be part of Epiphany enhanced
computer program. It is our goal to ensure students are learning the
necessary skills to meet the technological demands of today. Epiphany's
extensive computer curriculum is designed to encourage creativity and to
provide students with the ability to master the Microsoft office
applications and graphic design programs, as well as provide them with the
ability to handle any computer challenge they may encounter. We are
looking forward to a wonderful year!
Preschoolers, Junior Kindergarten and kindergarteners are currently
learning to use the mouse and keyboard. We are having them utilize their
computer skills with exercises intended to develop dexterity in the use of
the mouse and keyboard. Concurrently, we are reinforcing the knowledge
they have learned in their regular curriculum. We have them play in these
following sites:
littledittle.com and
yahooligans!Which help them develop computer motor skills, and are
also interactive learning websites and safe internet surfing links for
children. These grades receive an introduction to Microsoft Paint
application to help them enhance their creativity and perception of the
colors while being introduced to computer graphic designing tools.

1st,Second and 3rd graders are receiving an introduction to the advance
Microsoft Paint, Microsoft Word and Power-Point introductory chapter. They
are learning typing techniques and desktop postures. These techniques will
be reinforced on a daily basis! They are also learning to use their
computer browsers, to make the necessary adjustments, such as font size,
colors. They are also learning the names of computer components and
peripherals. We will encourage the children to use the computer to
research in the subjects learned in their regular classes.
4th,5th and 6th graders have been introduced to advanced Microsoft Word,
Microsoft Power-Point, and introductory Microsoft Excel and Windows
operating systems. They are also going to learn basic computer hardware
and networking tips. The students will learn how to use internet
communication tools such as "email". It is necessary for parents to sign
their children with a (free) email account at yahoo.com in order to start
using this wonderful communication tool.
6th,7th and 8th graders are currently learning advanced Microsoft office
applications, advanced graphic design applications, and reinforcing the
knowledge learned with exercises. We would like to bring these classes to
a level of excellencies in computer skills and with your help, we will!
