March News Notes for Epiphany School Parents

Terra Nova Week

During this week (March 5th – 9th) and next week (March 12th-16th) our students in grades 1 through 8 will be taking the Terra Nova Tests.  These are very important to our school and to the Office of Catholic Education.  The results let us know how the quality of education here at Epiphany measures up with the other Catholic Schools in the city.  In addition, the results help us track student progress from year to year.

Parent Involvement Meeting

On Wednesday, March 7th, 6:30PM in the Gym, our Title I program will offer an in-service to parents on how to help your children succeed in school.  This is the second in a series of instructional meetings.  The first one was excellent.  If you missed it you will not want to miss this one.

Registration for the 2007-08 school year

Our early registration incentive is now complete.  Thank you to all who registered your students during the month of February.  As of today we have students registered.  While this is a great number our goal is students registered in Kindergarten through grade 8 by the end of March.  This is the number required by the Office of Catholic Schools.  Please if you have not already done so come in to register.  In addition, our second grade and Kindergarten are almost up to capacity (24 students).   Please don’t wait until the last minute to register.

High-sight Scholarships

Please keep in mind that we have scholarships available for new families.  Should you be successful in helping us register a new family we will offer a reduction in your book fee for the coming school year.  Let’s do everything we can to promote the fine catholic school education we offer to our young people.

St. Paul of the Cross School

Kathleen Jacobs and the parents who have been such a support to us are planning a “kids garage sale” in May to benefit Epiphany School.  The planning meeting is March 15th, at 7PM at St. Paul of the Cross.  I will be attending the meeting.  Would there be several parents who are willing to attend the meeting and serve on this committee with me?  Please call the school office and leave you name with Mrs. Martinez.

Peace to each of our families as we strive this Lent to grow in our imitation of the Lord.
