SEXUAL HARASSMENT

Students are prohibited from sexually harassing other students.

Sexual harassment is defined as words or behavior that:
1. Is directed at a person because of his or her sex
2. Is unwanted and unwelcome
3. Causes the person to feel uncomfortable or offended

Students who feel that they are being sexually harassed should tell the harasser to stop. If the harassment continues, the student should report it to a teacher or school administrator.

Depending on the circumstances, the consequences for sexual harassment may consist of one or more of the following:
1. Verbal reprimand
2. Parent(s) called in for conference
3. Loss of privileges or participation in school activities
4. Out of school or in school suspension
5. Required counseling
7. Expulsion
