TORNADO/SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS
At first indication of severe weather conditions, the school office
listens to Weather-Radio Alert for information of impending storms.
If a Tornado Watch is announced, students will be dismissed at the
regular time, if nothing else develops.
If a Tornado Warning is announced, students will remain in school
and be taken to designated shelter areas until an all clear is indicated.
Children will not be released to anyone
during a Tornado Warning except a parent.
If a severe thunderstorm or snowstorm occurs at dismissal
time, the children will probably not be dismissed on time. They will be
kept in school past dismissal time only if the storm is very severe.
If parents work or are not at home, they should make arrangements to have
their child picked up from school or instruct the child to go to a nearby
home in case of severe weather conditions.
If a child has come to school unprepared for a change in the weather,
parents may bring clothing to the Office prior to dismissal. Parents are
not to take children out of lines at dismissal to give them jackets,
boots, etc.
